Causes of Irregular periods

Stress: High-stress levels can disrupt the hypothalamus, which regulates hormones, leading to irregular periods.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS): This hormonal disorder can cause infrequent or prolonged menstrual cycles due to an imbalance in reproductive hormones.

Excessive Weight Gain or Loss: Significant changes in body weight can alter estrogen levels and affect menstruation.

Thyroid Disorders: Both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism can lead to irregular periods by affecting hormone balance.

Pelvic inflammation disease

Perimenopause: The transition period before menopause can cause unpredictable cycles due to fluctuating estrogen levels.

Intense Exercise: Overexercising can lower body fat, which is necessary for hormone regulation.

Medications: Birth control, hormone therapy, and others

Chronic Health Conditions: Diabetes, celiac disease, and eating disorder.

Possible Solutions

Manage Stress: Incorporate stress-relief practices like yoga, meditation, or regular physical activity to promote hormonal balance.

Track Your Period: Use apps or a calendar to track your menstrual cycle, helping you recognize patterns and identify irregularities.

Consult a Doctor: If experiencing severe irregularities, consult a healthcare professional to rule out underlying issues like PCOS or thyroid disorders.

Limit Intense Exercise: Moderate your physical activity and avoid excessive workouts to maintain healthy hormone levels.

Medication Review: Speak to a doctor if you believe your medications may be affecting your cycle, as they may recommend adjustments.
